Bruno Major Live: A Night to Remember

September 7, 2024

The day finally came. I’d been looking forward to Bruno Major’s concert here in the Philippines. I thought this would be my last concert for the year, but 2NE1 just announced their comeback concert here in the PH this November. So, I’m hoping, praying, and manifesting that I’ll be able to secure tickets for me and my husband. *keeping my fingers crossed*

Back to Bruno Major’s concert: it was held at PICC, Manila, and hosted by Karpos. This was the first Karpos event I’ve been to, and I have to say, it was really well-organised.

I was a bit stressed beforehand because the organiser and venue required semi-formal/formal attire. As a laid-back gal with only a few slacks and polos (most of which are too tight now), I had no clue what to wear. I dug through my closet and tried on a few ancient clothes that didn’t quite work. In the end, I settled on comfy slacks, a white shirt, a blazer borrowed from my sister, and my white Vans. Semi-formal casual-ish.

I was really thankful to secure four loge tickets, which had a great view and were close to the aisle. Two were for Asis and me, and the other two were for my friend and her sister. We left the house at 16:00, even though the concert was set for 20:00, then got pushed to 20:30, and didn’t actually start until close to 21:00. Classic Filipino time!

We arrived at PICC at 17:00, which gave us plenty of time. I honestly wanted to be early for the photobooth. I didn’t want to wait in a long line, which did happen about an hour later. The queue was crazy—and it was a paid photobooth, mind you! Luckily, we got there early.

The venue itself was great, though the seats were a bit tight and narrow, which made things a little uncomfortable. Still, it was a lovely space for a concert. So cozy and intimate that you almost felt too shy to cheer too loudly. It was a refreshing change from my last concert where the person next to me was belting out every song. This time, no one sang too loudly, and people were really respectful when taking photos and videos—everyone kept it discreet and at eye level. The venue’s vibe just created that respectful tone.

As for Bruno Major’s performance—it was incredible. Magical. I loved every moment. When he started singing, I honestly thought there was a backing track, but nope, it was all live! The sound system was on point, the lighting was great, and the band’s solo performances, especially the guitar riffs, were amazing. Every song just made you feel like falling in love again.

It was such a memorable night, and I only realised later that it also marked our 5th month as a married couple. What a lovely way to celebrate! ✨
