I finally got to attend a full SB19 concert! While this wasn’t the first time I’ve seen them live—I was at their half-a-decade celebration fan meet—this was my first time experiencing a full concert. I chose to attend on the first day because the second day would have been too tiring since I had work the next day.
It was almost a close call getting a ticket, as the A’TINs were incredibly quick, and the tickets nearly sold out instantly. I had to refresh the page quite a few times to snag a spot close to the center section. I went alone again, and I’m getting used to attending concerts solo, which was fine. Both days had the same special guests, with one difference: on Day 1, it was Apl.de.Ap, and on Day 2, it was Gloc-9. It was such a shame that Gloc-9 was on Day 2, as I’m a huge fan of his!
Anyway, I also bought the merch bundle, which I picked up before the concert. It had a lot of inclusions, and the quality was nice for the price! There were also many sponsors and SB19 fans around the venue, handing out freebies to fellow A’TINs. I only got three photocards and a set of chibihead stickers from a friend I hadn’t seen in years from my old job, though, because I was too tired and not in the mood for roaming around and interacting that day. Bummer.
As for the concert itself, what can I say? They were amaaaazeballs, as always. Their live vocals and performances were amazing, both as a group and in their solo stages. There’s always something new in their song arrangements and choreography. I especially liked the storytelling elements before their performances; it added a nice touch to the overall concert experience.
One thing I was disappointed with was the lighting. The lights were pointed at us, the crowd, making it hard to see the performers with all the blinding lights. While it might have looked good on the online broadcast, in person, it was just distracting. That’s the one thing I was really disappointed with.
Overall, the concert was fire! It was such a damn journey! SB19 definitely ended their PAGTATAG! 2-day concert with a loud bang. They have come so far, and I’m just so proud. They’ve set the path for every P-pop group that follows. Echoing Epik High’s lyrics, “I paved the way for everyone that is pavin’ the way.”
P.S. I can’t wait to see their documentary on August 18!
