The Japanese rock band RADWIMPS will perform in Manila on May 1, 2024, as part of their world tour “The way you yawn, and the outcry of Peace”.
I was beyond ecstatic the moment PULP announced that RADWIMPS would have their first-ever concert here in the Philippines. I knew I had to see them perform live. I’ve been a big fan of their music since I first heard the OST of Kimi no Na wa. I was so amazed by their sound. To be honest, I have little knowledge about the band itself. I don’t even know all their names. I just know their music, though not always the titles. I’m seriously bad at remembering titles and names, but when I hear Yojiro Noda’s voice or their music style, I just know it’s them. Additionally, I watched a J-series where Yojiro played the main lead, which is why he’s the only member of the band I recognize.
Initially, I planned to buy seats closer to the stage, but then I remembered we still had many wedding expenses, so we chose the Upperbox section instead. I was overjoyed when I secured the seats I was hoping for in the center section of Araneta, and the ticket purchasing process was the fastest I had ever experienced, taking less than three minutes. With those tickets in hand, Asis and I had something exciting to look forward to.
On the concert day, we arrived around 5 pm, just in time to grab an early dinner and pick up our pre-ordered merch. The concert lasted two hours, and they were amazing! I loved the whole production; the visual experience was *chef’s kiss*. Even though they strictly prohibited using cameras during the concert, most people, including me, discreetly took videos and photos. I just couldn’t help it—I needed proof that I was there and something to look back on, especially since my memory isn’t great at remembering things. I’m not proud of breaking the rules, but I couldn’t resist capturing the moment. ✌🏼
The concert was worth every penny. I can’t wait for their next tour, and maybe next time, I’ll get those closer seats!
