Ragsak Kamp, Zambales

, , ,

January felt like a whole year for everyone. Tons of devastating news came in since this year started, from all the natural disasters around the world to the outbreak of a disease, and to the sudden death of a basketball legend. Not to mention the WW3 speculation. And oh, got another scalp Psoriasis flare-up. So basically the start of the year was just long, tough and plain awful. That was why I was looking forward to February because I was hoping a new month would mean a new clean slate for everyone to start everything anew and right. I’m trying to keep the good vibes rolling, y’know.

Anyway, the last time we’ve been to a beach was Jan of 2019, so we really took the chance to come with Asis’ cousin for an overnight trip to Zambales. We have been planning a getaway since last year, but it always didn’t push through. This would be our first getaway for this year 2020. We really wanted a change of scenery. We’d been stuck in the urban jungle for months and we badly needed to escape.

Ragsak Kamp in San Felipe, Zambales is a 3-4 hour drive from Quezon City. We stayed in a 2-story house, complete with appliances and other essentials. The place was perfect since we, oh scratch that, they planned to cook our food for our whole stay. By the way, the resort is just a 2-3 minute leisure walk to the beach. The beach was actually clean, but there were tons of blue water pipes that go directly to the water. I guess it was for the locals’ water supply. So yea, it was just unsightly. Also one of the highlights of this trip was when we played this card game that night to chill. We were embarrassingly loud. We almost disrupt the acoustic session at the Ragsak Bar but yea, it was so fun.

All in all, I really enjoyed the sand beneath my feet, the salty fresh air, the soft sunset hues, and the sea view. Asis and I basked in the beauty of the sunset, and that moment. Blissful indeed.

Love these photos of happier times but indeed 2020 is going to go on record as being one of the worst years since WWII. Allie ofwww.allienyc.com
