We Moved

We all know it is natural for Asian families to live in a multi-generational household and I’ve been living with my family for almost all my life. It was nice to live with my parents/relatives. It has its benefits but privacy is definitely not one of them. It can get really suffocating sometimes, too. I remember growing up I never had my own room. I always had to share a room with the whole family or my siblings, or most of the time I sleep on the living room couch/floor. I got used to sleeping on a hard surface, but it honestly sucked. Though 3 years ago, I’ve experienced living independently for the first time. It was really nice to have all that freedom and “privacy”, but there were some things that I sure did miss and still missing, like my mom’s cooking and our dogs. Being independent also means you have to be responsible for every decision you are making. It was hard and it still is. It really takes a lot of adjustments and sacrifice.

Anyway, the last week of July was pretty tough for me. I was getting stressed about searching for a nice decent place to move into that fit right our budget and having this Psoriasis doesn’t help either. I was restless it made my skin flare up. I badly wanted to move and have a place of our own. Or not, because Asis and I decided to also have my brother live with us to lessen the expenses. Such a big help. So yea, I just simply want a place away from all those everyday family problems, and a place where I can have my own privacy and have my own peaceful workplace. Luckily, we found this cheap and near place just 2 miles from my parents. It was not that big. Just enough for us three. The good thing, too, is that there are tons of fast-food chains, eateries, groceries, laundry shops, convenience stores, and other establishments near us. We have been staying here for a month and a half already and so far, it was okay. There are some house issues that arise every now and then but we are grateful to our landlord for replying promptly regarding our concerns. We are still learning to make both ends meet but I can finally say we have finally settled in.

Btw, it’s my first time to be alone here in our new place. Asis went home to his family and my brother is at work. I’m currently enjoying my day off and I just binge-watched this Netflix series called Terrace House. I also finished an anime movie, The Wind Rises. I also did some house cleaning. All is well! ♡
