San Juan, La Union

February 10, 2019 | Sunday
A spur-of-the-moment weekend trip with these peeps. It has always been like this with them. No definite plans, just being spontaneous. ♡

We went there around 1AM, Sunday, and arrived around 5AM. We were looking for a place to stay for the whole day and were glad we found Normi’s Resort. They had a lot of available rooms at a very affordable price for that day. They even had 2 swimming pools and a nice view of the beach. We started our drinking session when we arrived. We played cards, had our photo-ops, swam in the pools (the beach was not good for swimming), yadda yadda. It was really tiring yet fun. At around 5PM, we went to watch the sunset near the famous surfing spots in the area, where most of the beach resorts and restaurants were situated. It was such a lovely scene. I took lots of photos but it all doesn’t do it justice, and most of my shots turned out pretty bad (click here to view the film roll). My camera shutter window acted up again. Anyway, we grabbed dinner at a nearby food park and went back to the resort after. We were supposed to have another drinking sesh, but decided to just catch up on our lost sleep since most of us still had work the next day. It was such a short and tiring trip. And even though I expected too much from the place because of all the instagrammable photos I saw on social media, I’m still glad I got to finally visit Elyu.

P.S. I just thought the food and lodging prices are crazy overpriced and overrated. Just saying.

As much as I love planning trips much ahead of time, spontaneous trips are always the best. I think it's not knowing how things will turn out that makes it so much more exciting! Anyways, I love these shots. And I totally agree with ya, some places don't live up to their IG hype these days.☼ cabin twenty-four

True! We shouldn't fully trust the photos we saw on the internet, esp on Instagram. Very deceiving. Thank you, Eena. ♡

Amazing that you were able to spontaneously coordinate a trip with so many people! I find that planning a trip can sometimes take forever and it feels impossible to get a group of friends together; sometimes you just gotta forgo the planning and decide to do it right then and there! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's
