Virgin Island, Cebu | Day 3

January 27, 2019 | Sunday
On our last day, we decided to spend the whole day on Virgin Island (Silion Island). We met with the group around 9 AM and headed to the island around 10 AM. Everything was a breeze! We didn’t get to worry about the food and the boat transfers. So grateful for Ate Ginie! She made our lives easier and planned everything beforehand.

Anyway, the boat ride was pretty intense! The wind and the waves were really rough. It all made us scared and queasy and hungry at the same time. The moment we arrived on the island we prepared our boodle fight.

After that wonderful meal, Ate Ginie also prepared games for us. I didn’t get to take photos of that moment, but it was really fun. It was like one of those team-building/company retreat games that require teamwork. We played a total of 5 games:

  1. Fastest group to fill 2 bottles with seawater. You need to gather water using your hands, mouth or any parts of your body, or your clothing. This game was pretty hard since the distance of the bottle was far from the seawater. By the way, you can also disturb the other team or it’s up to you to your team’s strategy. We won this round.
  2.  The fastest group to finish rinsing all the sand from the body. You need to roll on the sand first then run into the water and rinse, then once done run to the next teammate then do the same thing until all team players are done. We lost.
  3. The longest line using items of clothing but there are certain points for certain clothing. All underwears were equivalent to 100 points and other clothing and accessories were equivalent to only 10 points. We won.
  4. The fastest group to finish passing the card from point A to point B using only the mouth or the skin. We didn’t actually get the game since the rules kept on changing for this round. We lost.
  5. The last game was tricky. Longest line using our bodies, but the line should be firm and cannot be broken.. and can also do a 360-degree flip/twist. We lost.

Our team lost! Thus, we must pay for the whole group’s last dinner in Bantayan. Definitely one hell of an experience. Most of us, the guys mostly, got to experience skinny dipping in broad daylight with other tourists around just for the sake of winning the games. Every one of us was really determined to win. Well, who wouldn’t want a free dinner? ∩(︶▽︶)∩

After those tiring games, we roamed around the island. Took our precious time to chill, to take photos, to swim, and whatnot. They even played tag on a raft. It was chaos. There was also this jumping area where you can cliff jump. I wanted to try but the waves were just rough and I was scared I might be swept away to sea.

We headed back to Bantayan Island around 5 PM. Thank goodness the waves were not as wild as before. At that moment, too, made my day more special. I can still vividly remember everything—the golden hour, the humming of the boat motor, the sound of the waves, the view of the islands nearby, the vastness of the sea, the chilly wind piercing through the thin layers of my clothing, the sunset. Everything was beautiful and calming even. Truly grateful for that short moment of serenity before we headed back to the hustle and bustle of life.

We went to dinner at MJ Square food court after we dropped our stuff back home. We ate again at Krab Krib. We stuffed ourselves with seafood. Oh my, I loved their scallops! And yes, our team paid for the whole group dinner. We also bought dried fish for pasalubong. Asis and I headed home after that, and the rest of the gang went to have another drinking sesh before we headed back to the city the next day. So yep, what a day! ♡

P.S. I was disappointed with the results of my shots. Most of it has this black thing on the right side. I think something’s wrong with my camera’s shutter curtain. I still need to have it checked though. Oh well. See here.

Glad you had fun!! And I would totally go crazy during those games too – free dinner is enough to motivate me to win! Sad about the black parts in the shots but to be honest, I think they add some sort of moody effect to your photos!
