A Quick Hop to Macau

Day 3 • September 27, Saturday

We were out by 6 AM to head to the TurboJet office and claim our free one-way Hong Kong to Macau ferry tickets. A friend tipped me off about the promo, which helped us save on transport. The office and port were on Hong Kong Island, while we were staying in Kowloon, so we left early since we were relying purely on commuting.

Our ferry departed at 7:30 AM. We grabbed McDonald’s breakfast and brought it onboard. The ride took less than an hour, and immigration in Macau was quick. I only pinned a few landmarks since I was already tired of planning. We ended up walking around for almost two hours and got a bit lost, which proved that you really should not rely on me for navigation. Eventually, we made our way to The Londoner. We also spotted The Parisian and The Venetian from afar. The place was fancy, with most shops being luxury brands, but it was also a nice spot to cool down and rest.

We had lunch at Tim Ho Wan, and I tried a drink from Starbucks Reserve. The Lookout drink was refreshing! Around 1 PM, we headed back to Cotai Port to return to Hong Kong, opting for a different ferry operator for the experience.

After a few hours of resting at our accommodation, we went out again around 7 PM and unexpectedly ran into Kuya Dennis, one of my cousin’s friends from Germany. The last time we saw each other was in 2018 in Bantayan, Cebu. Small world.

By the way, I asked my sister what food I should look out for, and she mentioned this specific ice cream. We still did not know it was called Mobile Softee. Good thing I remembered the photo she sent, so I got myself a cone. So yummy.

We called it a day after that.
