March 22 – The Not-Surprise Surprise Bridal Shower
This bridal shower was planned and arranged by my Design x Digital team, with help from friends in other departments and close friends who had already left the company but with whom I still keep in touch. We picked a date that worked for everyone, including me. The only detail I knew? The date itself.
It was amusing to watch them struggle to be discreet and sneaky with all things related to the bridal shower around the office. Despite knowing about it, I still did not expect the final outcome. I was speechless and overwhelmed. I was so grateful for their efforts that when I was asked to give a speech, I had to lock myself in the bathroom because I started crying. As someone who is still working on overcoming public speaking and isn’t fond of being the center of attention, I simply couldn’t find the words to thank them enough. But I hope I conveyed how much I appreciated everything.
The venue was perfect – just the right size for our intimate gathering. There were fun games, food and drinks, gifts, and a surprise video that I absolutely loved! It was a night filled with laughter and joy. I am incredibly grateful to be surrounded by such wonderful people.

March 27 – Another Surprise Baking-themed Bridal Shower
This time, I was genuinely surprised when my sister and best friend planned a surprise bridal shower for me. I honestly thought my sister was just going to accompany me for some shopping and pampering since my wedding day was fast approaching.
When we met up at the mall, she was in a rush to have me change into a white polo and black pants she had brought along. She told me she had scheduled a photoshoot for later that day. Being gullible, I believed her, though part of me was also confused, thinking, “Wtf?”
While waiting for our studio appointment, she mentioned wanting to get her eyelashes done, so we wandered around the mall looking for a nice lash studio. Imagine my surprise when we stopped by Bakebe baking studio. Again, I thought, “Wtf is going on?” Then she pointed at the seats inside the studio, and there was my BFF! That’s when it hit me—those two had conspired to plan this. My sister even had my Instax camera delivered to her place, so Asis was also in on the surprise. So yes, I was genuinely surprised.
The two decided to bake two cakes. To be honest, I’m not the most patient person and this activity was not really my cup of tea, but I really enjoyed my time with my two sizzums. It was a day full of chaos and laughter.
