February 6 & 7 (Tue – Wed) – Coron, Palawan | Day 5 and 6
We went on another tour, but this time we explored reefs and shipwrecks instead of islands. We joined a group tour with two pairs of foreigners. The day was cloudy with scattered rain clouds looming overhead. Honestly, I forgot the names of the spots we visited, and I didn’t take many photos with my phone because I was just enjoying the view throughout our tour.
The journey to and from the wrecks and reefs took maybe four to five hours in total. Our destinations were actually far from each other, making it feel endless. Only a few tourists had chosen this tour package. I guess not many people visit these spots unless they’re divers. So yeah, I can’t really say much about this tour. We were mostly snorkeling here and there. It was definitely an experience, and I appreciate the beauty underwater, but it just wasn’t for me. By the third stop, I just wanted to stay on the boat. All the paddling and kicking made me so exhausted that I almost felt like throwing up. Oh well. We also stayed on Passed Island for a while and had our late lunch there.
By quarter to three, we had already packed up because the rain clouds were fast approaching and the wind was getting stronger. The journey back was quite an experience; the waves were big and washed over the boat, drenching us. It also started raining. The weather was just nuts. Glad we got back safe, though. That finally sums up our trip to Coron.
Then came Day 6. We arrived at Busuanga Airport at a quarter to 7am and just killed time until we boarded the plane around 9am. That wraps up our out-of-town trip for this year. I’m finally ending this long-overdue series of Coron posts.
