Family Getaway: Pico de Loro

, , ,

I couldn’t remember when was the last time the whole family went on an out-of-town trip. Was it when I was in college? Or maybe in high school? It was certainly ages ago. Life got in the way and we all got busy that every time we had an outing, one of us wouldn’t be available. Such a shame that even this quick weekend getaway we weren’t complete when everyone in the family agreed beforehand to come. We were all sad and quite pissed that my brother’s fam decided last minute to not come, especially my parents, who were both looking forward to spending their time with their grandchild. Oh well.

Anyhoo, EG Funds, the company I’m working for, had this “Family Getaway” incentive for every employee. There were actually 3 destinations we could choose from–Zambales (Beach), Batangas (Beach), and Antipolo (Private pool villa). We chose Batangas since we wanted a beach and pool, and it was much nearer compared to Zambales. The company gave us a certain budget, and we used that for our 1-day accommodation, plus our entrance fee. We all just contributed for our food and rented van. Our unit had 2 rooms, and a nice view of the resort from the balcony.

The parentals were happy and took all their time in the world to take photos everywhere. The resort was surprisingly crowded. I guess people just missed being outside with their families. It was like everything was back to normal, but nope, covid is still out there guys! So yea, I didn’t swim at the beach, nor the pool. Lol. I still enjoyed our stay. We also played Pinoy Henyo that night and the guys drank beer till the wee hours. I also treated the fam at Healthy Shabu-Shabu the next day before we got back home. All in all, it was such a quick yet fun getaway.

Btw, Asis and I also just used the other massage incentive from the company (Oct 1). Really grateful to EG for giving me an my family a wonderful getaway experience.

The photos below were taken using the 35mmco pink reloadable film cam + their ISO 400 snap film (except the ones in columns)
