ZambaWork with the ZambaCrew

, , ,

In December of last year, our plans to go to Zambales to work and at the same time, to travel/getaway finally pushed through. We were initially 6 in the group, but Sha got sick the day before our trip. (╥﹏╥) Anyhoo, I was so excited about this trip. I was really looking forward to it. I was just so sick of being at home all the time. I needed a breath of fresh air and some sun, and thankfully though, my Psoriasis also cleared up before this trip.

We stayed at Casablanca in San Antonio, Zambales (Jhaey’s fam house), for 5 days and 4 nights. We brought our laptops and pc equipment with us (except for Maidy since she took a whole vacay leave for this trip.) I was also planning on just filing a vacay leave but then the company’s holiday shutdown was almost near and I needed the extra leave to cover the days that we were not working. It was still nice though, working in a new environment. We had an amazing chill vibe work set up on their second-floor deck. Every morning was so nice, it was cold and you could hear the sound of nature, and you get to see the sky gradual transition from dark to light. And we would go to the beach (2-5 mins walk from their place) once our shifts ended. Another thing we always looked forward to was the food. The caretakers of their place were all great cooks! I can’t wait to get back just for that. Haha!

Okay, I really suck at summarising. Sooo yep, here are the photos I took using my film cams–Kodak FunSaver (27 exposures, 800 iso) and Lomography Simple Use Film Camera (36 exposures, fujicolor c200). We actually have a looooooooot of photos and videos in our phones, and most of them were good for blackmailing. Hahaha! Just mostly stolen and wacky ones. So will not post it here. (≧▽≦)

Dec 4, Saturday | Day 1

We met around 1am or 2am in our said meet-up place, and we arrived in Zambales quarter to 6am. We just settled in, planned our menu and itinerary, bought our food good for our whole stay, and rested up on our first day. So, we had samgyup for dinner then we drank soju mix, and played card games.

Dec 5, Sunday | Day 2

Story time: On our second day we decided to go island hopping. We initially decided to go to Camara then Capones then Anawagin cove, but then we ended up just going to Capones island. After staying there for like an hour or less, the boatman said that we should get going because the wind and waves were starting to grow stronger. I also didn’t even take a dip because I decided to swim in Anawangin where we were also supposed to grill and prepare our lunch. And once we were about to go to Anawangin, the waves started to go crazy. Maidy and I were seated in the front row of the boat and we ended up drenched. The waves were mad and the wind was blowing against the direction we were heading to. It was so scary, we decided to go back. The other boatman said that we could still go to Anawangin, that it was pretty normal, but nope. Hahaha! It was one heck of a ride. Really terrifying and funny at the same time.

After getting some rest, we went to see our first sunset during our trip. Then after dinner, we did karaoke. ヽ(>∀<☆)ノ

Dec 6, Monday | Day 3

Back to work, but once our shifts ended we prepared and decided to go to Sestra in Liwa, Zambales. We really needed a proper caffeine fix because 3-in-1s won’t do. So yea, we watched the sunset and the surfers to kill time since the cafe was still closed when we got there. Liwa has waves that can cater to surfers unlike the one in San Antonio. Also took us 30 – 40 mins to get there. Jhaey’s dad was the one who drive to and fro for us during the trip. Sooo thankful for tito! (⌒▽⌒)♡

Dec 7, Tuesday | Day 4

Last sunset before we go back home the next day. So yep, we went home on Wednesday, Dec 8, after our shift. The whole trip was so nice and relaxing. So grateful it pushed through! Badly needed it! I had so much fun being with Jhaey, Maidy, Irish, and Iman. Their energy throughout the whole trip was never-failing, and as an introvert I honestly couldn’t keep up with them. Hahahaa! But they really made this trip memorable. Can’t wait to go back! ( ̄▽ ̄*)ゞ

By the way, here’s the film difference of the cams I used. Both films are warm, but the Lomo one with the Fujicolor c200 had this much yellowish and cyan tone and it was more paler while the Kodak had this reddish tone and quite contrast-y.
