2017 was a roller-coaster ride. It was a tough year for me. It was definitely not my year and that’s okay. But it doesn’t mean that I didn’t learn anything. There’s still so much to be thankful for.
I always told myself that I should never settle for less than I deserve and that my personal health and well-being should be top-notch. Which, my dear, led me to quit my job. I got another flare-up due to stress. Working in a toxic environment is anything but fun. And the same in terms of my career growth. I felt like I’m not progressing in my field. Our technology has been continuously evolving, same with the internet’s programming language, and I’m stuck with just the basics. Thus, quitting my job was such a big step for me.
I also lost someone close to me this year. It was sudden. It broke my heart and now I miss him. It has been almost a year already and I still think about him every now and then. He was like a brother to me and it saddens me how I never got the chance to talk to him or ask how he was doing before he died. We just kind of drifted apart and that made everything worse. You never truly know what you have until it’s gone. So go on, tell your loved ones you love them before it’s too late. You will never regret doing it, but you will surely regret it if you don’t.
There you go, and the rest of my year went uneventful. Oh, I got fat. Well, that’s not new. Okay, whatever. Food is life. Btw, here are the dates that I need to jot down to remember.
