Silanguin Cove, Zambales

April 29-30, 2017
Yes! Another getaway for this year. For two consecutive weekends, we were out and about again. It was so nice to just get away from the hustle and bustle of the city but damn, this has been one of the most grueling trips I’ve ever been to. Lots of complications and confusion happened. The traffic, the heat, the financial issues, the carelessness, and all the waiting.. it was terrible. But of course, Asis and I wouldn’t want to ruin our time so we still make the most out of this trip.

This was our second time in Silanguin Cove and its beauty still never ceases to amaze me. Silanguin is the farthest cove from San Antonio jump-off point, thus making it the least crowded among the other coves in Zambales. It was also the reason why we stayed in Silanguin. Our first time there was almost two years ago and nothing much has changed. Asis and I were looking forward to meeting Aling Susan again but unfortunately, we didn’t get to see her around. I badly wanted to buy her Pompano dried fish. I swear, it was so delish.

Anyway, despite all these “problems” we still had fun though. We somehow managed to have fun that night. I remember we were all brave enough to go and swim farther from the shore. We were all goofing around, forgetting we were tired and had no sleep. What made it more special was that the group next to ours during our bonfire session lit some fireworks and it was such an amazing sight to see.

It was one of those rare moments where you feel everything was perfect — the chill vibe songs playing through loudspeakers mixing with the sound of waves softly hitting the shore + the crackling sound of wood burning, the booze, the blanket of stars, the people I’m with — it was epically amazing. “And in that moment, I swear we were infinite.” was the best quote, to sum up how we felt that night.

Sometimes these kind of moments are what makes the trip unforgettable and yes, maybe a good story to tell and to remember by someday. So yeah, ‘til then.

I miss you, Kuya Cy. You were gone too soon. I wish you were there with us that night. Love you.
