Day 1: Osmeña Peak, Cebu

, ,

It was around January when we, together with Asis’ friends from high school, decided to book flights to Cebu online. I can barely remember how it all started or how we came up with this trip. But all I know is that we cannot wait for April to come!

April 13th marks the day when Asis and I went on our first major out-of-town vacation. Cebu is the farthest place we’ve been to so far. (I wouldn’t count the out-of-the-country trip I had with my family when I was 7. Uh, no.) and also, his first plane ride and yes, mine too since I can’t even remember the experience way back when. We were just plain excited for this day to come. We’d been saving up as much as we could for this trip. Even bought new stuff just because. Everything about this trip gave us something to look forward to!

We were off the Badian, Cebu as soon as we landed. We certainly wouldn’t want to waste our time and we were famished and exhausted. It took us over 6 hours or more to reach our destination: Matutinao Beach Resort. After we checked in our baggage, ate our late lunch, and fixed ourselves. We readied ourselves for our first activity, Hiking! *sakit ng katawan kagad ang hanap sa unang araw*

Now we were off to Osmeña Peak. We had to ride a habal-habal to get to the jump-off point. 1 motorcycle can accommodate 2 persons + the driver. (P500/pax | Roadtrip) There were actually a lot of options to choose from just to get to the peak! You can do canyoneering and hiking in just a day, that’s if you want to kill yourself. Haha. Kidding aside, that will all depend on your time frame. So anyhow, the ride took us about an hour! It was grueling and arm & butt-numbing but the scenic routes will definitely make you feel good inside.

It took us a lot of time just for the photo ops. Fortunately, it wasn’t crowded that day and we were lucky to have two tour guides that were really good at taking photos of us! Almost all of these shots in Osmeña Peak were Kuya’s shots. Siya na nagdala ng camera ko the whole time. He insisted, edi siya na. Lol

We also waited for the sunset view but shame the sun was hidden behind the thick clouds. So after the photo ops and all, we finally decided to call it a day.

Btw, Asis and I both accidentally burned ourselves from the motorcycle exhaust pipe. Haha! *partners talaga kami! charaught*

So to wrap this up, our first day in Cebu was completely tiring yet full of fun-filled experiences. Definitely one heck of a day! Also, glad that I got along pretty well with Asis’ friends. All in all, it was an awesome day with awesome people. Yay! ♡

Will post the “Second day: Canyoneering” post soon. Now I’m off to sleep.
