Zambales, Silanguin Cove

, , ,

This is going to be the part 2 of my Silanguin Cove post and also the last post about my Zambales trip.

Do you know what makes Silanguin Cove more special? It’s this view.

Woke up around I-don’t-know-what-time-it-was but Asis and I woke up energized while my parents and my sis & her boyfriend woke up grumpy due to lack of sleep. Ha-ha! It was our last day and last day means roaming around the area and taking it all in—the view, the fresh air, the sea, the sand, and the moment—before we all head back to the urban jungle.

Asis and I went to the farther end of the shore and at the back, we found this river but it was at low ebb and yes, the majestic view. It was like a paradise, with the mountains behind, the birds flying freely, the morning fog, and the sun’s rays. Everything looked magical. Witnessing this kind of beauty was such pure bliss and it made everything more perfect because I was sharing that wonderful moment with my better half.

They were looking for the turtle eggs but didn’t find any.

Aling Susan

Aling Susan was one of the landowners in Silanguin. She told us stories about the government and about this big Korean company owning a large land on the mountain and how afraid she was about them and what they might do in the future. She was also complaining about the government, and how slow it was.. because they told her that they will develop Silanguin but where are they now? No progress at all. The place was beautiful and had potential but it was unmaintained. Oh well. What do you expect from our government?

Btw, she also told us that you can kayak on the river when the water is high and you can also trek for an hour to the waterfall. I just wish we had more time to do more activities there.. ╮(╯▽╰)╭

Aling Susan also brought us to their house and showed us her goats! She and her husband also had these dried fish. She joyfully told us that some of these fish were being exported outside the country. So we bought 2 Pompano for only 50 (25/each). She even insisted to give it for free but nahh, we paid her still. She gave us a free one instead. We brought home 3 big dried Pompano (one for my family, one for Andrei’s, and one for Asis’) Haha!

One last groupie before we say goodbye to Silanguin.

The boat ride took an hour and a half (from Silanguin to Pundaquit Bay) with no stopovers. It was such a nice boat trip. We even saw flying fish here and there. It was like an endless trip on the sea and it was amazing.

And the last photo with Mang Pedring

It has been a stressful but fun trip. We will definitely come back. ‘Til next time, Zambales. ♡

P.S. The Pompano was delish!

These are the list of packages Mang Pedring sent to us. We didn’t change any amount or what. So feel free to contact him if you have any queries. Tell him you got his number from us: Asis and April. He might even give you a discount.
